5 Ways to keep Calm🎈

During this period of uncertainty, when the current situation is affecting the whole world in many different ways it’s very important for all of us to act as responsible citizens and not lose our composure. But during this kind of situation it’s getting easier for people to lose their calm specially people having anxiety, depression or other health problems.

Today I am going to suggest some measures which can help you to maintain your composure and state of mind during this difficult period. First, take a deep breath in and slowly out. Relax and keep calm.

1.Stay In Touch With Your Friends & Family

Remember you are not the only one who is following social-distancing or home-stay.Your friends and family are following too. There is nothing better than staying away from screens and spending quality-time with your family (you can play board games, cultivate some hobby together or even just have a deep conversation about life).Technology is a blessing. If your friends and family are away from you then you can video chat or use Skype to stay connected with them.

2.Start Limiting Your Time On Social Media.

Social Media is actually a great source of fake information and during these times it’s very important for you to avoid all kinds of negativity.Search some other kind of entertainment(maybe developing some kind of hobby or something) but start limiting your time on social media. Stay updated on what’s going around the globe through verified news but not through social media.

3.Take Care Of Yourself.

Practicing self-care is very important specially if you want to avoid any kind of negativity creeping into your mind. Learn to do yoga or any kind of exercise which can keep you both mentally and physically fit. Find some time to pamper yourself with a hot-bath or lotion etc. Remember to eat right and healthy as your safety is most important at this time.

4.Get Constructive & Creative.

If you have a lot of spare-time now-a-days,don’t be lazy to try and cultivate a new hobby or practice any existing one.Do something constructive and creative during your home-stay. This will not only keep you away from overthinking and negativity but also will help you pass your time in a good and happier way.

5. Drink Plenty Of Water & Have Proper Sleep.

This is something very necessary to follow in our day-to-day life. The basic step to maintain your composure and not lose your temper is to drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated all day long and have a proper good-night sleep. An average human being should atleast sleep for 7 to 8 hrs a day and drink atleast 2.5l to 3.5l.

These are just a few ways you can practice to make yourself feel calmer during this period of uncertainty. Remember to practice social-distancing and stay at home for the safety of your friends and family. Stay safe, stay happy.

Do you have any more ways to keep calm? I’d would love to hear in the comments😄 .

Thanks for Reading😄.

  1. These are great tips! I’ve been staying off social media as much as possible. I’ve also been trying to get outside for a few minutes each day just to enjoy nature and get some fresh air.

  2. I’d like to add a couple of points:

One, to rely on our faith and belief in a God who loves us and is helping us to get through this.

If we believe in a punishing God, we believe that this current crisis is punishment for some sin so egregious that there is a group of people responsible and that the rest of us are living the fallout from this punishment.

If we believe in a loving God, we know that each of us has been given free will, so if one person making a wrong food choice accidentally triggers a disease to jump from animal to human, we understand that it was a terrible consequence of a personal choice. We believe that God and all his heavenly realm are there to help us through this situation.

Second to train ourselves to flip the script and to see the positive side of the statistics which the media is sensationalizing. Yes, there’s a 3.4% death rate, but there’s also a 96.6% recovery rate! Also 80% of people contracting the illness will only experience mild to no symptoms!

Since there’s no accurate way to predict who will land in which group, people are scared, yet we need to realize that the social distancing is to help protect the most vulnerable. By flipping the script we can see our actions then are not an act of fear about contracting the illness, but a worldwide outpouring of love for all of our family members who may be more vulnerable!!

    Be well everyone!

    Peace, Tamara

  3. I don’t want to keep calm, ever! I want to be excited! I agree with all of your tips, though, but for different reasons. Avoiding social media because it’s tedious, boring and brain-numbing, for example.

      1. Thank you for the post and tips, Ava.
The way I see it, the greatest feeling of “glow” or being at peace, comes when a LOT of positive, exciting things are happening. I’m allergic to calm. I respect that others are different, though. 🌴

I feel an exciting life has it’s own advantages but right now with this type of difficulty around us it’s necessary for everyone to maintain their composure.

      3. I have a natural “cold blooded” composure when things hit the fan. I understand others can have different reactions, and I can’t really help, so I hope to be courteous in these differences. Happy blogging, Ava. 😀

People are different…..stay unique and change to be better only when you want not according to others.

A church has a rat problem
The church doesn’t want to kill the rats so they trap them and release them far away, but the next day they are back.
Next they try ask them politely to leave, still they won’t budge.
Finally the priest has one last idea, he baptized all the rats.
Now they only come at Christmas and Easter.
man walked into a bar. He sat down and asked the bar tender “If I impress you, can I have a free drink?”. The bar tender said sure, so the man reached in his pocket and pulled out a tiny piano. He then pulled out a small rat and set it by the piano. It crawled on to the bench and began playing
music. The bar tender was amazed, so he gave the man a beer. Next, the man said “If I impress you even more, can I have free drinks for life?”. The bar tender didn’t think it was possible, so he agreed. The man pulled a frog out of his pocket, and it began to sing by the piano. The bar tender smiled and told the man that he was impressed. A man in a suit with a cane walked into the bar, saw the small animals, and offered to buy them for $2 million. The owner said no, but he offered to sell the frog for $500k. The rich man agreed, took the frog, and left. The bar tender couldn’t believe the owner just did that and said “Why did you just sell the frog?! There is no singing now!”. The owner laughed and said “Don’t worry; the rat is a ventriloquist!”.

Two professors of economics were walking down a road when they saw a dead rat.
The older one said – “If you eat this, I’ll pay you ₹10,000”. The younger one makes a quick cost-benefit analysis and finally eats the rat.

The younger professor experiences a bad after-taste and wants the older professor to experience the same. When he sees another dead rat on the road, he dares the professor to eat it in exchange for the old ₹10,000. The senior professor, eager to recover his reckless bet, eats it.

After a few minutes of walking silently, the younger professor finally says – “Looks like we’ve been eating dead rats for free.”

The older professor remarks, “But don’t forget we just added ₹ 20,000 to the GDP!”

  6. This is a wonderful post! Listening to calm music is very helpful. As well as reading the bible as some have mentioned. The bible can give us wonderful advice for our lives, as well as a sure future filled with peace. Everyone stay well and safe!

Proverbs 14:30-A calm heart gives life to the body.

Galatians 5:22,23-On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control.

Psalms 37:11-But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.❤️
