3 Things We Should All Stop Apologizing For🌕.

We’re wired to seek a sense of belonging, and we fear being ostracized from our tribe, so many of us lean toward excessive contrition and apologies to ensure we’re still in people’s good books.A weird feeling called “Guilt” is one of the major reason which makes people apologize a lot. There is always a right time and need for a meaningful and true apology, but honestly most of us find ourselves saying too much and too often “Sorry”.I have noticed that the most used word of my entire day is “Sorry”. I feel I should not apologize for most of the things I do,most importantly I should not apologize for being myself because that’s how I am!

Apologizing for the below 3 points is a complete no-no. I’ve decided to make an actual effort to limit my sorry’s-Wanna Join me?

Being Myself.

Honestly, I’m a very frank and straight-forward person, but recently I have noticed that I always keep on apologizing for my honest point of view because of the guilt of hurting someone by my words. If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past few years, it’s that my feelings are valid and they are mine alone. It’s always better to be straightforward than talking behind the back.I should never feel bad about expressing myself & my honest feelings.I should never back out from being myself, because my feelings are enough worthy to be expressed. There are of course ways to express those feelings correctly and maturely, but I know I should never have to apologize for the things that I am naturally feeling. Saying “Sorry” for being who I’m should not be a part of my vocabulary.I will not apologize anymore for the way I feel, but will definitely learn to express them in a much better manner.

“Never apologize for showing your feelings. When you do, you are apologizing for the truth.”

My Priorities & Ideologies.

I want to live a life I choose to,regardless of fitting in with other people’s norms.I should not apologize to anyone for being different from them.I have learned one thing after a long time-Making decisions about your own future, don’t do any harm to anyone.No-one should feel guilty about improving themselves or thinking about themselves first.I won’t apologize anymore for prioritizing certain things in my life and I know that I will be making mistakes in the long run but there will be no need of apologizing for the decisions I make.

“When your only regret is if anyone thinks you regret anything -that is the definition of conviction.”

My Appearance.

Last but not the least,I should never ever apologize for my looks. It’s often said “Never judge a book by it’s cover”,but still people often tend to judge others by their appearance.I apologize for my appearance very often and up until recently, because I realized that saying “Sorry” for how I look is hurting my self-confidence.If I am having messy hair or no make-up look then it’s my decision to be like that why should I apologize to anyone.I’m a human too, so it’s okay not to have a picture-perfect look all the time.I am growing to be more confident about my appearance(however I look) and have stopped apologizing for it.

“Apologizing does not always mean you’re wrong and the other person is right. It just means you value your relationship more than your ego.”

If you’re anything like me, you apologize far too often, and many a time, when you haven’t done anything wrong. We may also apologize because we’re highly sensitive to other people’s feelings, and we want to ensure we haven’t unintentionally caused them pain or trouble. It’s admirable to apologize when we’ve genuinely done something wrong, or even if we believe we inadvertently hurt someone else. But there are certain choices we need to know and own, and should never apologize for.

Stay Safe, Happy and Positive Everyone……

  2. indeed, my personal believes by saying sorry that many a time we are wrong and we have to apologize for it and if we truly want to save relationship so that time we have to down our ego and inspite of being right we have to sorry thats what gentle do.
