When your family was waiting and guessing,
You came to the world as a blessing.
While most of the people around you wanted you to be ‘HE’,
Your family was happy as you were made a proud ‘SHE’.
Being a little princess,everything around you was poured with pink
Sadly, these silly things were only what your parents could think!
From playing with dolls to listening stories of moon and stars,
Hardly, did anybody knew that you also liked playing with cars.
The society asked you to be soft, sensitive and fragile
But you were born to be bold, strong and agile!
You were forced to follow the so-called standard beauty trend,
As if not looking fair and flawless will make the world end!
Laughing at all this social fuss,
You realized beauty exists in all of us.
Everybody asked you to be graceful and homely to fit in the frame,
But the women leaders out there taught you how to ace the game.
From difficulty to ignore those annoying creepy chase,
To fighting the irritating male gaze,
Every day of a girl is an unwanted war,
But still you are out in the world shinning like a bright star!
Insecurities and doubts were hard to get over,
But you were strong enough not to let these disturb you ever.
You endure everything with silent sob and weep,
Still you stand tough as you made promises to keep.
You knew your self-esteem to you is so dear,
Then you realized your confidence is greater than your fear.
World kept mocking-saying you are only alive to wive,
But you decided to strive harder to thrive.
Keep your head held high, fearing none
Because girl you are strong to face the world alone!
Your story is still incomplete, ask your hopes to stay,

This is a really great poem about Women Empowerment and hard working ladies who are an inspiration even for men.
I like to see the stories of women who, through their sheer hard work and spirit, outshone the men and became guiding stars for generations to come. Ladies like St. Joan of Arc, Rani Abbakka, Indira Nooyi, Dr. Marie Curie etc.. became what they are because of their refusal to be cowered down. And persistent hard work on their end made them successful.
A woman’s life is a battle, much of which is not of her choosing. Yet, we believe that women are able to achieve better and have actually achieved better than men.
Great poem..!! And an inspiring one.. ☺️☺️
