The Agonizing Happening

She couldn’t walk,
She couldn’t talk,
All they did was fiercely stalk,
She was like a prey for evil hawks.
Tightly closing her sunken eyes,
Nobody heard her deafening cries,
Her tear stained face never dries,
All around her were evil guys!
Escaping she tries,
Asking for some blessing in disguise,
But no help came even from skies,
They caught her, to her surprise!
She begged and pleaded, they hardly cared
Ruthlessly pulled her head beautifully haired,
Ripped her clothes as some starred,
She was not sparred.
Blood boiled in her every vein,
All her cries went in vain,
Power over them she couldn’t attain,
She suffered from unbearable pain!
They came turn by turn,
With it she felt her soul burn,
Her pain was not their concern,
Lust was all they yearn.
Her blood painted the floor,
Pain and suffering she bore,
They were in number four,
She failed to handle anymore!
Her screams went unheard,
Abuses were only slurred,
Slut was she referred,
Slowly her vision blurred.
Their touch she couldn’t endure,
She felt dirty and impure!
‘We will kill you’, they assure,
This was something she was sure.
She knew she couldn’t sustain,
Strength she couldn’t regain,
Still fought till her last breath,
Those demons pushed her to death!

“Now, should we treat women as independent agents, responsible for themselves? Of course. But being responsible has nothing to do with being raped. Women don’t get raped because they were drinking or took drugs. Women do not get raped because they weren’t careful enough. Women get raped because someone raped them.

– Jessica Valenti

“Beauty provokes harassment, the law says, but it looks through men’s eyes when deciding what provokes it.”

Naomi Wolf

Rape is one of the most terrible crimes on earth and it happens every few minutes. The problem with groups who deal with rape is that they try to educate women about how to defend themselves, what to wear, where not to go etc. What really needs to be done is teaching men that girls are same and respect is equally needed for them . They should be taught not to harass, not to abuse or stalk, not to rape . People need to go to the source of this and start there. Hope, that a time soon comes when no one has such tragedy to go through.

  1. A beautiful emotional poem. This is a very terrible situation, it is almost like dying. This requires stringent legislation. It is very unfortunate that some women fall prey to it all the time in the country. And this is the situation in the country where the goddess is worshiped. How many women face dirty eyes, dirty voices and dirty gestures every day, in fact it is the work of people with distorted mindset. Not only women, but men should also come forward to teach such deformed people a lesson. Respect women, whether at home or outside.🙏🙏

  4. Very well-written and heartbreaking poem! And I so agree with you! Men should be taught while they are boys to give the same respect and love to females as they would another male. Bless you for writing this!

  5. I couldn’t agree with you more. When we begin to treat each other as humans regardless of race or gender the world will be a better place. A wonderful poem. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
