There was a time when I used to find myself constantly worrying about what others think or might about me. I used to be worried that people love judging me and what I am doing. Then once while taking to my mama, she made realize that I am worrying too much. I know it’s pretty common as many of us do, but overtime it is going to hurt and destroy our self confidence and esteem. It can be and is going to be hard to stop worrying about what others think and to be more carefree but you need to somehow stand on your own legs . However, there are some things I did apply for myself and have actually recovered from it. So,you can do too, to start making it easier for you.

Signs That You Worry Too Much About What Others Think
If you are anything like me then these are a few signs which I used to actually face that may tell you that you are actually worrying too much. Here are some of the signs below:
- I was most of the time too afraid to say what I really think or believe.
- I often tend to constantly think and believe that people are upset with me when they really aren’t.
- I sometimes used to do things that I didn’t really want to do and then regret it afterward.
- I always wanted to do something different and stand out but may be was too scared to do so.
- I used to do most of the time what others told me to do more often than what I really wanted to do and found it somehow hard to make decisions for myself.
- I used to overthink a lot!!!
Now that we have discussed the signs of worrying too much about what others think , let’s take a look at ways that can help you stop worrying about others and start to live your life for the best and to the fullest.

1.Accept The Fact That Pleasing Everyone Is Not Anyone’s Cup of Tea.
There is a popular saying,’Better to be loved by few people you care about, then liked by everyone’. This should be the true reality in this case. It’s important for you to know and accept that you can’t please everyone, it’s just not possible. As soon as you face this hard truth of life the better it will be for you.
2.Practice Acceptance & Self-Love.
It’s very important for everyone to remember that we need to love and respect ourselves before anything else. Always say to yourself that you are no less than anyone. Try to accustom healthy habits like yoga, meditation, a proper diet etc. This can take a while but once you learn to love and accept yourself, you will gradually stop worrying so much as you will accept yourself for who you are and won’t need anyone else’s approval.
3.Why Do You Even Care?
Calm down and think with clear mind that “Why do you even care what others think about you?” Finding your answer for this question is the basic step to overcome your fears. You need to accept that it is not your fault or that there is anything wrong with you, it is the society that we have grown up in, which contributes to our developed fear of rejection or judgment. Once you start to recognize this, it may become a lot easier to start accepting yourself.
4.Try To Focus On Being In The Moment.
Living in the present, can make it much easier for you to stop overthinking and unnecessarily worrying. It will also help you to focus on what’s happening right now rather than focusing on something which is not in your hands.
5.Hey, Life Is Too Short….
Life is too short for grumbles and worries, so be kind to yourself and live your life to the fullest. Do what you always want to do without fearing the judgement of others. You should try and decide for yourself what you want out of life. Disregard what others want for you, it isn’t for them to say.
6.People Just Don’t Care!
The day you start realizing that most people are same as you and have their own insecurities and worries to handle it will become easier for you to stop worrying so much about what people think. Try to understand and realize that everyone has their own lives, struggles and things that they have to deal with each and everyday. So,they will normally be thinking about themselves and not you.
7.Find & Stay With Your Group Of People.
Having a close group of family and friends who are always positive and honest with you can really help a lot. You can ask them questions when you feel you may be judged and they will give you their open and honest opinion. Try to avoid people from whom you get negative vibes because only when you are around people who lift you up and help you to feel positive can really help you overcome self-doubt.
If you compare yourself to other people all too often, to their successes and especially to their high-light reels that they share on social media then self-doubt can quickly creep up. I have found that being kind and constructive when feeling self-doubt is a better choice (I actually started blogging because of this). So I use kind and understanding words towards myself but I also ask myself:What is one very small step I can take to move forward in this situation?
Thanks for Reading😊.

Best compilation AVA.
GOOD.
This is the very basic principles of self realisation (philosophically). But to understand this, all are making mistakes in this present materialistic world in which all want to run after their own (misfortune) self esteem.
( I am also one of them)

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts. Worrying is natural but worrying too much is not good for us. Think of a life bereft of challenges and worries – it is not worth living. Whenever there is something worrying, God always comes and partner with me in solving my worry. Every negative moments are challenges which could be faced. If for some reasons we are not able to solve a worrying moment, just leave the same to TIME for its tackling. 😍

I agree with you,
Infact I feel this natural feeling of self doubt if in less can help us improve as a person but in excess can destroy our inner self

Self-confidence starts from within despite the fact the encouragement from others can help. A little bit of worrying always us to be mindful but an insight or awareness could help us be inspired to get over worries and trust in the plans of God while doing wjat we can to improve both on the inside as well as the outside …

Love this post! As a person who overthinks a lot of times, I find number 3 and 4 most useful. I totally agree that assessing yourself how you feel that way is the basic step to overcome your fears. It is very important that we look inside first before thinking of other ways to overcome self doubt, and ask ourselves, why do we really feel that way? Answering this question comes with honesty to oneself and takes quite an amount of courage. Also, being in the moment definitely helped me overcome those thoughts I usually overthink. We should’t focus on what happened because it is done, and neither does it help worrying about something that hasn’t happened yet. Great post, Ava, very helpful! 🙂 ❤

This is actually a really relatable post and thanks for taking out time to give these suggestions. I have always thought that it doesn’t matter what people think about you, but still find it hard sometimes. For instance, I often wonder what people think about my short hair. I try to disregard it but at times, I do worry about what people think of me. I guess this is something no one can fully get rid of, but it has to stop taking that control over you. Over time, I think I realized I don’t have to change myself for people to like me.

These are some great points to keep in mind. I can vouch for the observation that most people aren’t paying as close of attention as our anxieties would have us believe. I used to worry constantly about people perceiving every little thing about me and judging me, yet I gradually realized, when I apologized for things only to receive blank looks, that people are usually too busy with their own problems to worry about yours.

You covered a very important topic dear Ava!. Self-doubt is like a virus which infects mostly Teens or young generation you may say. Every teen thinks whether people will like them or not and they start to change them selves for others opinion. No one should doubt them selves. We are perfect the way we are. Thankyou for sharing this with us🤗. Stay safe 💟

a good write and you hit all the right points. yes we do over think this about ourselves and people tend to over think many issues in their lives. “you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can not please all the people all the time.” or something like that. lol self realization is very important.
