Selfless Service

With each drop of blood,
They saved our mother nation.
To save us from enemies’ flood,
They are the God’s creation.

Kissing forehead of their son,
They left their crying wife,
Fought wars one by one,
Without thinking of life.

They sacrificed their time,
Some sacrificed their life,
They are victims of war crime,
We can’t pay back even afterlife!

To ensure we are free,
And our future bright,
Fighting till they down to knee,
They fought with all might!

Died or wounded in battle field,
Full of scars and disease,
From us all dangers they concealed,
They are as strong as breeze.

They all are not alone,
We stand with them like stone.
We will never leave their hand,
Together we always stand.

Whether they have died or on call,
It’s our turn to thank them once-for all.
It’s time to honor them all,
They maintain independence for all!

To all our brave veterans,
You all are with us, far or near,
Thank you for your selfless service,
In all the years.

Either I will come back after hoisting the tricolor, or I will come back wrapped in it, but I will be back for sure.

You have never lived until

You have almost died,

And for those who choose to fight,

Life has a special flavor,

The protected will never know!

Let me introduce myself, I'm a human searching for reality without losing morality. My name is Ava, more precisely Ava Tripathy, the face behind the blog Avem. Humorist Indian by Nature and Sarcasm in Vein. Unpredictable and absolutely a philosophical one.

  1. A number of important people in my life are either veterans or currently in active duty. Both my grandfathers suffered from PTSD after serving. This is a beautiful tribute about something many young people forget to be thankful for. Thank you for sharing this!
