Not Young Anymore

Photo by Anna Shvets from Pexels

A time when I was ignorant and small,
I used to have fun all day long,
Never knew one day I’ll grow so tall,
That I can’t ask Father to come along.
With all my innocence and truth,
Coming of old ages,
Is full of tenderness and ruth,
Same as turning pages of a book.
Without taking a look!
I’m now growing old, So what
I’m not obsolete-I’m bold!
Now my face is full of wrinkles,
But I can feel my eyes twinkle.
Still I want to be young again,
Is there a way for my strength to regain,
I’m all old and grey full of sleep,
Look into my eyes, which won’t be so deep.
And tell me, could you see fear creep?
Did you see my fear of death,
With each and every last breath?
I remember the date,
The death of my loving mate,
Causing an irreparable hole,
Deep in my heart and soul.
I used to be calm and humble,
But now all I do is grumble.
I feel God is very creative,
Now I’m more emotional and reactive,
I think I still want to be active,
Without waiting for my life to deactive!
My time is slowly passing,
I’m realizing nothing is forever lasting,
Still follow your own heart,
Our life is a form of God’s art,
Only death will make us all fall apart.
I have completed my given part.
I wish you happiness with all my heart,
It’s now my turn to depart.

Let me introduce myself, I'm a human searching for reality without losing morality. My name is Ava, more precisely Ava Tripathy, the face behind the blog Avem. Humorist Indian by Nature and Sarcasm in Vein. Unpredictable and absolutely a philosophical one.
